Good Friday, March 29, 2002 Being atheist, I rather enjoy these "religious" holidays. I never complain about getting paid for doing absolutely nothing. It's ironic that the church and state has been separate for so long, and yet we still celebrate religious holidays. Anyway, happy easter and don't eat too much chocolate!! posted by piperboy 9:32pm EST |
I've been on the adobe studio site a lot before, I guess I'm linking to them because it's a great resource centre to find inspirations.Adobe Studio contains monthly features of designers and interactive studios. Good place to find out the latest in design. No Adobe did not pay me to endorse there site, although it would be nice. posted by piperboy 9:32pm EST |
We're six days into spring, and there's 10 cm of snow on the ground, what's going on? I'm glad I spent most of the day indoors at the flash festival. Anyway,Flash in the Can ended somewhat similar to the way it started. On a mid to low point. They should really break up the seminar into design and developement, people should choose what presenter they want to watch. I really wanted to come out of the conference feeling refreshed and inspired, well, I didn't. Ok, after attending the awards show, I got some ideas. I have to say that there were some excellent work featured through 12 catagories. There was a lack of variety from the participants. 3 or 4 sites were finalist in seperate catagories. I think for the next awards, they should at least try to be more selective and posted by piperboy 11:32pm EST |
The first Flash Conference,Flash in the Can held in Canada in the Design Exchange. It's the perfect place to hold these design related events, though, I feel that in a couple of years, we'll really out grow that place. I had really high expectations for this, and I have to say that I was a bit underwhelmed by the lectures held today!! Although I'm pretty impressed by the number of Canadian speakers throughout the 2 days. Nevertheless, I thought that Shawn Pucknell did a really good job in organizing this event in such a short time. I feel that it's going to be in the same league as the Flash Forward Film Festival. posted by piperboy 11:28pm EST |
Wednesday, March 20, 2002 Today at 2:36pm is the first day of spring. It would have to be one of my favorite seasons. Fall would be 2nd. I suppose it's because I can always wear nicer stuff during those seasons. I guess you can take a boy out of fashion, but you can...well you know!! Usually I'm not never look forward to summer, but this year, I am so looking forward to it's arrival. I am so sick of the cold weather. I don't know, but I'm getting positive vibes about this summer, it's gonna be awesome!! So with that said, I've decided to launch my newly designed site as well. It's not 100% done yet, so more stuff to come.
During my lunch, I took a walk to the CD store, and purchased Brazilectro session 3. I guess the packaging caught my eye, it looks like a book. cool. I tried listening to it at work, but it kept crashing my mac. I'm not sure, the music always sounds way better in the store. Now that I've had a serious listen to the CD, I'm really enjoying it. Relaxing cool vibes, I highly recommend. posted by piperboy 6:45pm EST |
This weekend I saw a movie called Gangster No 1. I was expecting it to be a rip off of Lock, Stock, and 2 Smoking Barrels, I guess stylistically it was done in the same art direction, and tone. But visually, it was brilliant, but thought the Director lost interest half way through the movie. posted by piperboy 11:09am EST |
Been out of commission for about 3 days. I had to say it sure feels so good to be able to sleep all day and night, and not have to worry about catching up on work. I did find time in between to fix up my site. I am happy with my progress so far, as things are starting to pick up. During my down time I've found one of the best site I've seen this year. It'saltoids the curiously strong mint. The graphics is phenominal, brilliantly designed by wddg. posted by piperboy 12:59am EST |
For the past couple of months, I've been hooked on watching smallville It's sort of like a cross between Dawson's creek(sans irratating 20 somethings) and Buffy the Vampire slayer. I find it entertaining, and fun to watch. The writing is brilliant, the plot is very intellegent and relevent to today's teen life. It's refreshing to see the progression of Clark Kent's development into Supermanhood. I've only missed one episode and it's interesting to see the character development. Brilliant. posted by piperboy 10:31am EST |
