| Scary day, Oct 31, 2002 Just came back from seeing The Ring I have to say I was thuroughly freaked out and was literally kept at the edge of the seat. I am a horror film buff and generally watch them on premiere night, but I have been extremely busy this past month, so I decided to go tonight, plus I had a free ticket. It started off like any typical teen slasher flick, kind of like Urban Legends. Then it get better after the first casualty. The actors did over act a bit during some scenes, and at one point the plot became quite predictable. This is a remake of a Japanese film, I guess the moral of the story is that people are watching too much TV, and it's real bad. How bad you ask, well so bad that it can kill you! What a freightening thought. ♥ posted by piperboy 10:37pm EST |
| Tuesday, Oct 29, 2002 Just finished watching this new comedy Hidden hills
, it's pretty hilarious! The leads have a considerable amount of chemistry. The comic timing is bang on and the issues are true to life and way funny. I really hope this one last. ♥ posted by piperboy 10:37pm EST |

| Thursday, Oct 24, 2002 Just discovered a site of an amazing artist, Alessandro Bavari his work is highly surreal and every piece is of amazingly high quality. He is strongly influenced by indo-european cultural myths and allegories as well as 14th and 15th century artists. I might be going out on a limb, but there is a bit of similarity between his work and Mark Ryden. I know the execution and finished products are very different, but there is a quality that I can't really pin point. Never-the-less, his work is amazing.♥ posted by piperboy 1:13am EST |
| Sunday, Oct 20, 2002 "Having the time of my life" pretty much summed up Saturday night. A pretty good friend of mine organized a 70's themed birthday party on Saturday night. She hired a really rocking cover band, they really got it goin on! Rarely do I find myself having fun, grooving to 70's and 80's tunes, but what made the night so special was being with good friends and everyone getting into it when they started playing ABBA's Dancing Queen.♥ posted by piperboy 11:39pm EST |
Saturday, Oct 19, 2002![]() A bit of sad news. An uncle of a close and dear friend passed away. Although I never met the uncle, it was still a sad day, as I have been close to my friend and his family for the past 3 years. I don't have many family members living in Toronto, they've made it a point to include me in all of there family functions and during the holiday season. To see something bad happen to them hurts me as well. The viewing will held on Monday and Tuesday, while the funeral is held on Wednesday afternoon. I will probably go on tuesday night to pay my respects and also attend the funeral on Wednesday.♥ posted by piperboy 11:05am EST |
| Thursday, Oct 17, 2002 One of my favorite late night shows is The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn. I must have been a vampire in my past life as I am most awake at the wee hours in the night. On Thursday's show, he featured this amazing singer/songwriter named Jason Mraz. I never really get too passionate about singers but I just find his music very refreshing. His performance was full of energy and very genuine/raw. "SoUnusual" is a old song that I found on his site. It's a live recording. Quite good! His new CD was released earlier this week, and is available through his label, electra, currently the entire cd is available for preview on his site. But only until Oct 31. So go and have a listen. ♥ posted by piperboy 5:32pm EST |
| Wednesday, Oct 16, 2002 "Move your feet" The band's single has been out since early summer. Today I'm rediscovering the delightful video and song. The animated pixel characters are so cute and fun to watch. There is also a "Move your feet" Shockwave game too, pretty cool too This evening I participated in a survey for the Ontario government. It is one of the first phone surveys I've ever participated. Kind of made me feel grown up. They just wanted to know my opinion of the current provincial government. I voiced my concerns over healthcare and education cut backs. Honestly I feel that our educational system is failing the current crop of students. If this continues, the future of Ontario will be pretty freaky. ♥ posted by piperboy 11:23pm EST |
| Tuesday, Oct 15, 2002 Didn't do much today, still recovering from Saturday Night's partying. I hardly slept at all. Well, I did take a 2 hour nap and the I was off to Thanksgiving dinner at my friends parent's house in Oakville. Dinner was amazing, I couldn't ask for anything more. Although we had to take the Go Train home, but it's all good. On my way home, I passed by the Video store and picked up an English version of Brotherhood of the Wolfs. I watched it while falling in and out of consciousness. All in all, it was a well directed piece with pretty good FX and sword fight sequences. Then Today, I watched it again in it's entirety. I have to say it was much better, I missed so much the first time. The dubbed voices made it kind of cheesy, but I didn't feel like reading subtitles so I had to sacrifice the quality a bit. Also made some changes to my home page. It looks a bit better than the old one, although the other sections still looks a bit bland. Oh well. ♥ posted by piperboy 2:33pm EST |
| Sunday, Oct 13, 2002 Just came home fromThe Guvernment. It was their 6 years anniversary, and I have to say, the night was pretty amazing. I haven't been there for a serious party in almost 3 years now. Sure the club has changed a lot over the years, I guess that's what makes it so successful. A group of us arrive there, got in free. Most of my friends left earlier, they weren't really into that type of music. The crowd were predominantly under 25, but I didn't really care as DJ Dave Seaman worked the crowd for most of the night with his hypnotic beats and wicked grooves. I'm always impressed by the lazer light shows, I know it seems very 80's but good visuals. ♥ posted by piperboy 5:00am EST |
| Tuesday, Oct 9, 2002 This past week, I've been having email conversations with the great Joshua Davis. In case you've never heard of him, he is one of the most well known web designer/developer in the world. Josh has lectured in conferences all over the world and his site has won lots of awards and recognition. Well, I was kind of pestering him on newstoday.com, for a while now. One night I noticed that he had emailed me. Anyway this is the result from our emails. I hope Josh is amused by this, I know I was. ♥ posted by piperboy 1:32pm EST |
| Thursday, Oct 3, 2002 More bad things is happening to me, WHY? My thermostat at home is broken, to save money I got my friend to come help me replace it. We took a drive to Home depot in hopes of finding a replacement. Well, turns out that I will have to call the maintainence guy to fix it. I know those guy's fees are outragous, can't believe it. I might go without heat this winter :-( posted by piperboy 8:52pm EST |
| Tuesday, Oct 1, 2002 OMG, I'm so tired. Last night I had one of my worst phone experiences ever! Was put on hold by my ISP for 2.5 hours only have them hang up on me. I was infuriated. I don't know how many hours I've spent trying to change my banking information with them, everyone that I've spoken with are fucktards. Anyway, I was so mad I only got 3 hours of sleep. At work I had 2 deadlines within an hour of each other. One of the projects was to design 23 banner ads. I don't mind doing them but it seems like the copy changes on a daily basis and I have to keep going back an alter each animation over and over again. I think the world is being taken over by retards. ♥ posted by piperboy 3:32pm EST |
